In a recent announcement, Elon Musk, owner of X (formerly Twitter), shared plans for a significant algorithm update set to revolutionize the platform.

Presently, the For You feed on the app showcases popular and trending posts from a broad network, including highlights from users' followed accounts. However, Musk revealed that the upcoming algorithm will shift the focus towards posts from smaller accounts.

This update aims to diversify users' content experience by featuring posts from accounts beyond their existing network of friends and follows.

Musk clarified that the change intends to introduce users to new and interesting accounts they may not have discovered otherwise.

Additionally, the adjustment aligns with Musk's vision of transforming X into a platform that empowers smaller creators, providing them with exposure to a broader audience.

In recent months, X has been actively targeting creators with various features, including support for long-form posts with an extended character limit of 25,000 for paying subscribers.

The platform also allows the upload of two-hour videos.

Notably, X CEO Linda Yaccarino disclosed last month that the company's ad revenue-sharing program has disbursed nearly $20 million to creators, emphasizing the platform's commitment to supporting and incentivizing content creators.

As X continues to evolve, Musk's latest revelation underscores a strategic move to amplify the visibility of smaller accounts, fostering a more diverse and inclusive content landscape.
