Amir Tawfik, head of El-Ahly's signings and transfers committee stated that new Ahly manager Rene Weiler and his supporting team won't be earning 2 million Euros annually.
Tawfik said these comments amid the rumors started by Zamalek chairman Mortada Mansour , in which he stated that the Swiss coach was offered a job at Zamalek for 1 million Euros, but he refused. Thus Mansour stated that he is probably earning double the amount at El-Ahly.
It was also revealed by Tawfik after a press conference that Weiler's contract is for one year only, with an option to renew it if the club sees fit. He also revealed that release clause of the Swiss coach depends on his performance with club.
In the case of Weiler winning both the Egyptian League and the African Champions League than he has the right to call up on his release clause if and when El-Ahly decides to terminate his contract.
