The European Investment Bank (EIB) revealed that climate change has affected the daily lives of 84% of Tunisians.
According to the results of the first African version of a study, the EIB prepared for the year 2022, the bank stated that 52% of the population in Tunisia acknowledged that climate changes and environmental damage had negative repercussions on their income and way of life.
The study confirmed that 43% of Tunisians (compared to 57 of Africans) were able to adapt to the effects of climate change.
The first African edition of the study aims to promote public debate on behaviors and expectations in terms of climate action.
Since 2018, the European Investment Bank has carried out many large-scale comparative studies on climate in Europe, China and the United States of America.
Since 2011, the Bank has provided more than €2.1 billion in financing to Tunisia to support inclusive and sustainable growth in the public and private sectors.
