 Egypt's Wheat Imports Decline by 30% for   Fourth Month in   Row

Egypt’s wheat imports continued to decline during the recent period, as data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics ( CAPMS)  said that the value of Egyptian wheat imports amounted to about $235.4 million last April, while it was $336.5 million in April 2021, a decline of $101.1 million, a decrease of 30%.

April is the fourth consecutive month in which wheat imports have recorded a decline since the beginning of 2022, as Egyptian imports of wheat recorded about $310.8 million last March, compared to $317 million in March 2021, a decline of $6,164,000, a decrease of 1.9%.

Egypt's imports of wheat recorded about $176 million in February, while it was $341 million in February 2021, a decline of $165 million.
