This airport has been designated by the Egyptian authorities to receive international humanitarian aid from various parties and international organizations.
The Foreign Ministry emphasized in a statement released on Thursday that the Rafah border crossing between Egypt and the Gaza Strip is open and has not been closed at any stage since the current crisis began.
However, the repeated Israeli airstrikes have caused damage to its essential facilities on the Palestinian side, disrupting its normal operation.
