In his inaugural meeting since taking office, Egypt's Grand Mufti, Dr. Nazir Ayyad, welcomed a delegation of religious leaders from Kano State, Nigeria.
The discussion centered on Islam’s position against gender-based violence and the protective measures that Islamic Shari'ah enforces to safeguard women and families.
The Mufti highlighted the need for a correct understanding of Islamic teachings, particularly regarding "qawamah" (guardianship) and women’s rights, to ensure family stability and social cohesion.
The Nigerian delegation expressed their appreciation for Egypt's Dar Al-Ifta efforts in promoting accurate religious understanding and looked forward to future collaboration to foster peace and tolerance in Muslim communities.
