His Eminence Dr. Shawki Allam, the Grand Mufti of Egypt and President of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, received high-level delegations from the Egyptian church to offer congratulations on the occasion of the approaching Eid al-Fitr. The first delegation, from the Episcopal Church, was led by Bishop Dr. Samy Fawzy, Archbishop of the Alexandria Province for the Episcopal Church, and Bishop Dr. Munir Hanna, Archbishop of the Honorary Episcopal Church and Director of the Christian-Islamic Center for Understanding and Partnership. Dr. Allam also received Father Philip Issa, the priest of the Syriac Orthodox Church in Egypt.

During the meetings, the Grand Mufti emphasized that holidays are an important occasion for strengthening relations among people, where they exchange greetings and share joys. This enhances the bonds of brotherhood and love among people, regardless of their cultural and religious affiliations. It is an opportunity for us to see each other as brothers and friends and to exchange sincere wishes for goodness and happiness during these blessed days.
