The Egyptian Foreign Ministry closely follows up the conditions of 17 Egyptian fishermen detained by Tunisian authorities, said Assistant Foreign Minister for Consular Affairs Amr Mahmoud Abbas.
Abbas added On Saturday that the Egyptian embassy in Tunis is making necessary contacts with the relevant Tunisian authorities to ensure the safety of the fishermen.
It is noteworthy that the Tunisian naval units boarded an Egyptian fishing boat, which illegally entered the territorial waters southeast of Kerkennah, with 17 people on board.
