Egypt's Ambassador in Juba Mohamed Mansur and South Sudanese Minister for Water Resources and Irrigation inspected the Unity state’s capital Bentiu to assess the launch of Bahr el Ghazal river dredging project, according to Sudan Post on Friday.
The project is being jointly established by the Egyptian Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation in cooperation with its South Sudanese counterpart.
Sudan Post mentioned that the project, after being finalized, will improve river navigation system, which can enhance river transport as well as minimizing floods in Unity State and Bar el Ghazal regions in South Sudan.
It also highlighted Cairo's supportive role to the world’s youngest country since its independence in 2011, saying it donated millions of dollars for Juba.
