Amr Moawad, Egypt's Ambassador to Jakarta, and Anis Baswedan, Governor of Jakarta, inaugurated the Egyptian pavilion in the Indonesia International Book Fair. The Fair will last till 8 September.
Egypt - represented by the Egyptian General Book Organization headed by Dr. Haitham Al Haj Ali - is participating in this event.
The ceremony was attended by Mohamed Al- Fiki, the undersecretary of the Ministry of Marketing and Head of Marketing Sector.
The governor of Jakarta was keen to visit the Egyptian pavilion and expressed his admiration of the variety of publications and papyrus in the pavilion.
The Egyptian Book Organization dedicated to the Egyptian Ambassador the commemorative medal of the Organization for the great role played by the Egyptian Embassy in Indonesia.
On his part, the Egyptian ambassador praised the efforts exerted by the Ministry of Culture and the Book Organization to enhance the image of Egypt in international forums.
It is worthy of note that the Egyptian pavilion includes a large number of the latest publications, especially heritage books, children books and folk and religious studies.
