The Egyptian Red Crescent has announced the launch of the 22nd “Zad Al Ezzah… From Egypt to Gaza” humanitarian convoy, which set out on Monday carrying 4,000 tons of relief supplies to the southern Gaza Strip through the Kerem Abu Salem crossing.
This latest shipment included more than 3,700 tons of food baskets and flour, along with tons of essential emergency supplies urgently needed by the people of Gaza. The convoy is part of Egypt’s continued commitment to provide sustained humanitarian and food support to civilians suffering under the ongoing crisis.
As the national mechanism for coordinating and dispatching aid to Gaza, the Egyptian Red Crescent has maintained a constant presence at the border since the beginning of the war. Importantly, the Rafah crossing on the Egyptian side has never been fully closed, with Egypt ensuring a steady stream of humanitarian assistance despite immense logistical and political challenges.
So far, Egypt has facilitated the delivery of more than half a million tons of humanitarian and relief aid into Gaza, made possible through the tireless efforts of 35,000 Red Crescent volunteers working across logistics hubs and distribution centers.
