Egyptian Karate fighter Giana Farouq won her first match in the qualifying Pool B of the Women’s Kumite’s -61kg elimination round at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
She beat Peruvian karateka Alexandra Vanessa, the 2019 Pan American Champion, 2-0.
Giana Farouq will play her second match against Serbian player Jovana Preković on Friday morning.
