Mohamed Elsayed, a member of Egypt's national fencing team, made history by securing a bronze medal at the ongoing Paris Olympic Games, taking place from July 26 to August 11, 2024.

Elsayed's journey to the podium was marked by a series of impressive victories. He clinched the bronze medal after a thrilling match against the Hungarian champion, winning 8-7 and earning Egypt its first medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Elsayed began his Olympic campaign with a dominant performance in the Round of 32, defeating the Colombian champion 15-7. He continued his winning streak by overcoming the Italian champion in the Round of 16 with a score of 15-10.

In the quarterfinals, Elsayed faced the Belgian champion, securing a nail-biting victory with a golden touch, finishing 9-8. Although he was defeated by the French champion in the semifinals with a score of 15-9, Elsayed bounced back to claim the bronze medal in a closely contested match against the Hungarian fencer.

Egypt is competing in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games with its largest delegation in history, featuring 148 main athletes and 16 reserves, bringing the total to 164 competitors across 22 sports. This makes it the largest contingent among Arab and African nations.
