The Egyptian community in Ukraine announced, on Thursday that the internal situation across Ukrainian cities is stable, reassuring the parents of Egyptian students studying there.
The Egyptian embassy in Kyiv called on Egyptian citizens there not to leave their homes, to keep identification documents, and to follow the instructions issued by the Ukrainian authorities until the situation stabilizes.
The embassy added – on its page on “Facebook” today, Thursday – that it will provide the members of the community there with any additional instructions.
It is worth mentioning that, explosions in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, early Thursday morning were heard as Russia is launching a military operation against targets in the country.
In addition, bombing warning sirens were heard for minutes, media reports said.
Crowds of citizens also rushed to hide in metro stations, while the Ukrainian president declared the state of martial law throughout the country.
On the other hand, the border guard said that Ukraine is coming under Russian artillery fire and land invasion along its northern and southern borders, adding that Ukrainian forces were returning fire.
