Egypt's ambassador to Malaysia, Ragai Nasr hosted a reception on the occasion of the 72nd anniversary of the July Revolution.
Mr. Nazmi Ahmad, Malaysian Minister of Environment and Natural Resources, represented the government at the celebration, which began, in accordance with Malaysian royal traditions, with a speech by the guest of honor that included prayers for the King of Malaysia and for Egypt and its people for protection, care, and prosperity, and for the flourishing of Malaysian-Egyptian relations.
The national anthems of Egypt and Malaysia were played.
Egyptian ambassador also delivered a speech in which he welcomed the guests, who included senior government officials, the diplomatic and consular corps accredited to Malaysia, and honorary consuls.
Moreover, he stressed the great leap forward that had taken place in Egyptian-Malaysian bilateral relations over the past year, culminating in the visit of the Malaysian Prime Minister to Egypt in October 2023 and his meeting with His Excellency the President, and the telephone call between the leaders of the two countries in February 2024.
Among the most prominent Malaysian personalities who attended the ceremony were Deputy Prime Minister Zahid Hamid and President of UMNO Party, Prince Suleiman bin Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah, Crown Prince of Selangor State where the capital is located, Minister of Higher Education Senator Dr. Zumbri Abdul Kadir (former Foreign Minister), Minister of Religious Affairs Senator Dr. Muhammad Naim, Minister of National Unity Aaron Djang, Minister of Federal Territories Land in the Prime Minister's Office Zalekha Mustafa, Speaker of the Malaysian Parliament Johari Abdul Abdullah, Commander of the Malaysian Army, Commander of the Air Force, Chairman of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, Deputy Minister of Tourism, and Deputy Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Multilateral Affairs.
