A high-level source informed Cairo News Channel today, Monday, that intense Egyptian-American discussions are underway aimed at achieving a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and securing the release of detainees.
The source noted a meeting between an American delegation and Egyptian officials to address the ceasefire efforts, with the U.S. recognizing Egypt's pivotal role and President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi's initiatives.
For 38 consecutive days, the conflict in Gaza has escalated following the Palestinian resistance's "Flood of Al-Aqsa" operation on October 7. The Israeli forces continue airstrikes against civilian homes, hospitals, mosques, and churches, resulting in thousands of casualties.
The Gaza Health Ministry has reported the death toll since the aggression began has surpassed 11,000.
