Justice Minister Adnan Fangary and UNDP Resident Representative to Egypt Alessandro Fracassetti signed a memorandum of cooperation and unveiled a report on the performance of Legal Aid Offices (LAOs) in Family Courts.
Minister Fangary praised the productive collaboration with the UNDP, highlighting efforts to support LAOs in Family Courts and enhance the mediation role of Dispute Settlement Offices (DSOs). He emphasized the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to improve family justice and raise public awareness, particularly among vulnerable groups, about the critical role of legal aid offices.
The newly signed protocol aims to address family-related challenges and promote out-of-court dispute resolution. It seeks to advance LAOs by focusing on infrastructure upgrades, digitization, and capacity-building to bolster the efficiency of LAOs, DSOs, and family court judges.
Minister Fangary reaffirmed the Justice Ministry’s commitment to ensuring justice for all and strengthening Egyptian families to better navigate challenges.
In turn, UNDP Representative Fracassetti commended Egypt’s progress in digital transformation and governance, particularly in citizen-focused services. He described Egypt’s approach as a regional leader in achieving sustainable development goals.
Fracassetti also stressed the significance of continued cooperation with Egypt in areas that support sustainable development, highlighting the successful partnership with the Justice Ministry to promote the rule of law.
