Egypt to Increase Investments in Green Projects by 50% within Two Years- Ministry

Ahmed Kamaly, Deputy Minister of Planning and Economic Development pointed out to the importance of green recovery, explaining that the Egyptian state has increased the percentage of green projects in the investment plan for 20/2021 to 15%, and 30% in the fiscal year 21/2022, and it is targeted to reach 50% in 24/2025.

Kamaly affirmed the importance of the need to deal with the high rates of poverty and inequality, explaining that in the short term, more social protection policies and programs can be put forward, especially in terms of targeted conditional benefits.

This came within the activities of the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development 2022 at United Nations Headquarters in New York under the theme "Building back better after the COVID-19 pandemic, while advancing the full implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development".
