Egypt to Host 1st Meeting of Industrial Partnership with UAE, Jordan in July

On Saturday, the Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry, Nevine Gamea announced that Egypt will host the first meeting of the Higher Committee of the Integrated Industrial Partnership Initiative signed with the UAE and Jordan in July.

The meeting, chaired by the industry ministers of the three countries, aims to enhance joint food and drug security and cooperation in the fields of industry, investment, agriculture, fertilizers, textiles, minerals and petrochemicals.

Gamea held a video-conference meeting from Sharm el-Sheikh with the Minister of Advanced Industries in the UAE, Sultan Al-Jaber, and the Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply in the Kingdom of Jordan, Youssef Al-Shamali.

The ministers affirmed the keenness of the leadership of all three countries to expedite the initiative and put it into practice, and take all necessary measures to start implementing joint projects that achieve the desired economic and industrial integration.

Gamea added that the meeting reviewed the basic system of the initiative, as well as the general framework of the tasks of the Supreme Committee, alongside the periodicity of its convening and the executive committee emanating from it.

It was also agreed to quickly form the executive committee in each country and assign it to start holding intensive meetings, starting next week with the business community,  she indicated, to discuss the mechanism for involving the private sector in the three countries in the areas and projects included in the initiative.
