On Sunday, Dr. Hossam Hosni, head of the Scientific Committee to Combat Corona, revealed Egypt's position on the new strain that hit some countries around the world, foremost of which the UK.
In televised statements to "Al-Hekaya" talkshow, aired on MBC Masr TV channel, Hosni said, "until this moment, we have not shown traces of the Coronavirus's new strain that is spreading in UK, but we have to pay close attention and be careful."
He also stressed that the reason for the increasing number of cases is closed areas, along with the spread of influenza (Flu) in the winter season, which helps the spread of Covid-19.

Head of the Scientific Committee to Combat Corona stated that the Egyptian protocol sets special standards for treatment during the first 12 days of infection, and another program for 12 days following the infection.
Regarding the travel ban to and from the UK, Hosni emphasized that Egypt is following the matter carefully and will take the appropriate decision when necessary.
"Egypt uses the Chinese vaccine because it is safer," Hosni affirmed, adding that it adopted the same scientific idea used in the tuberculosis vaccine.
He also revealed that the vaccination campaign against COVID-19 will start in Egypt next week for the first groups.
