Egypt will be back to its regular time, tonight. Citizens and residents of Egypt will be asked to delay their clocks for 60 minutes and change the date from Friday, 12 am, to Thursday, 11 pm.
Egypt started working with daylight saving time on Thursday, 27 April. People needed to adjust their clocks for 60 minutes forward at midnight of Friday, April 28. The clock was turned from 00:00 (Friday, 28/4/2023) to 1:00 (Friday, 28/4/2023).
Following the daylight saving time lasted to the final Thursday of October, 26, Egyptian Cabinet Spokesperson Nader Saad said.
Last March, the Egyptian Cabinet approved the return of daylight saving time after years of absence.
The decision indicated that daylight saving time would be applied from the final Friday of April to the final Thursday of October.
On its official Facebook page, the Cabinet said that the return of daylight saving time is due to the recent developments in the world, and the government's target to save energy.
