The Foreign Ministers of Egypt and Tanzania discussed the latest developments related to cooperation between the two countries with regard to the construction of the “Julius Nyerere” Dam, and the ongoing preparations to celebrate the early operation of the dam.
The meeting also discussed the next edition of the joint committee between the two countries, scheduled to be held in Tanzania this year.
Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met today with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tanzania Janori Makamba, on the sidelines of the Non-Aligned Summit held in the Ugandan capital, Kampala.
Ahmed Abu Zeid, the official spokesman stated that the meeting discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two sides, especially with regard to the economic aspect and working to increase the rates of trade exchange.
Moreover, The Tanzanian Foreign Minister expressed his satisfaction with the increase in Egyptian investment rates in his country during the last period.
He added that the two sides agreed to continue consultations on ways to develop bilateral relations, as Minister Shoukry expressed his welcome to receive his Tanzanian counterpart in Cairo soon.
