Egypt Air announced Tuesday that it will stop its flights to and from Khartoum Airport until further notice.

Egypt Air said in a statement: “Regarding the suspension of Egypt Air flights to Sudan and due to the continued security instability in the brotherly state of Sudan, Egypt Air announces to its customers that it has stopped its flights to and from Khartoum Airport until further notice, provided that you are provided with the latest developments, respectively".

Egypt Air called on its customers traveling to and from Khartoum airport on its flights to review their reservations by contacting the service center.

This step comes in light of the escalation of armed clashes in the Sudanese capital, which reached Khartoum airport and led to the destruction of a number of aircraft.

Egypt Air had previously announced the temporary suspension of its flights to and from Khartoum Airport, on 15 April, for a period of 72 hours.
