On Friday, Egypt reported 869 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the country’s total up to 316711, according to a statement released by the Ministry of Health.

Moreover, the statement added that 38 new deaths were recorded, increasing the number of deaths to 17884.
It is worthy to mention that Egypt recorded 865 new infections and 40 new deaths on Thursday.
Egypt is currently working on speeding its vaccination rollout, in addition to including more categories in the campaign such as university students. In addition, the authorities will open the doors for vaccinating school students.
Moreover, the country is still receiving huge vaccine shipments from various companies such AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, Moderna, Sinovac, Sinopharm, and Sputnik V.
The country has localized the manufacturing of the Chinese Sinovac, in addition; it plans to manufacture Moderna and Sptunik V.
