Egypt’s Street Child National Team successfully qualified for the semi-finals of the 2026 Street Children World Cup currently being held in Mexico, following strong performances and impressive results throughout the tournament, continuing to write a new story of sporting and humanitarian success for Egypt.

The Egyptian team consists of 10 children who were prepared through a comprehensive rehabilitation program that lasted for more than 10 months.

The program included intensive physical training as well as psychological and social support, aiming to prepare the players for international competition, boost their self-confidence, and provide them with a real opportunity for a new beginning through sports.

Egypt’s participation in the current edition of the tournament comes after the achievement made in 2022 at the Street Child World Cup held in Qatar, where the Egyptian boys’ team won the title.

This success inspired a new group of children to follow the same path and represent Egypt on the global stage.

The Street Children World Cup is considered a unique global platform that combines sports with raising awareness about the challenges faced by street children around the world, while working to change stereotypes and promote their rights to protection, education, and a dignified life.

The tournament is not limited to sports competitions, but also includes dialogues and empowerment sessions that allow children to express their opinions and present their issues to decision-makers.

The tournament is organized by Street Child United, which serves as an international platform combining sports competition with humanitarian goals through empowerment programs and dialogue sessions that give street children the opportunity to voice their concerns and present their challenges to decision-makers around the world.
