Egypt's Minister of Health and Population Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar asserted that the population growth issue is imposing itself on the state and society as one of the top priorities in the reform and construction process.”

“We have exerted efforts and put this issue as a top priority and we are achieving continuous improvement that is clearly reflected in numbers,” he said.

Abdel Ghaffar made these remarks during a special event marking the achievements of the EU Support to Egypt’s National Population Strategy with the Ministry of International Cooperation and the Ministry of Health and Population since its inauguration in 2019.

It's worth mentioning that Egypt’s Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) showed 750,000 spike in the country’s total population over the past 170 days, growing from approximately 103,000,000 to 103,750,000.
