Egypt Prepares for 2nd Wave of Coronavirus With 600 Hospitals

Minister of Health and Population Hala Zayed on Tuesday confirmed that Egypt has a network of hospitals to deal with possible infections with the Coronavirus, which includes 600 hospitals in the Republic.

Zayed explained that Egypt has hospitals which are prepared to handle the second wave of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Zayed added during a press conference currently held with the participation of the World Health Organi2zation: "We have developed 45 fever and chest hospitals, and the remaining hospitals are being developed because they represent the first line of defense to protect our people."

The Minister of Health clarified that the political leadership took care of the coronavirus file and supported it, noting that the treatment protocols are updated according to international standards.

She confirmed in previous statements the necessity of continuing to provide basic health service as a priority to face the emerging Coronavirus pandemic.

She added: Hospitals represent the primary role in providing all-natural services, in addition to Coronavirus treatment services.
