Egypt offered its sincere condolences to Madagascar, on Thursday, over the ship sinking tragedy that left dozens dead.
"Egypt offers its deep condolence to the families of the deceased, wishing a speedy recovery for the injured," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement, affirming solidarity and support for the Madagascarian government and people in their loss.
On Monday, a cargo ship sank off Madagascar‘s northeastern coast, killing 83 people, according to the maritime agency.
The ship, illegally carrying 130 passengers, left the city of Antanambe, in the eastern Mananara North district in the early hours of Monday, according to a report from the Maritime and River Port Agency.
Jean Edmond Randrianantenaina, director-general of the Maritime and River Port Agency, affirmed that it is not authorized to carry passengers and Antanambe is not an official port.
