Egypt mourned Friday, the death of the President of the United Arab Emirates(UAE) Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, calling him a loyal and wise leader, according to Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady.
"The Arab nation has lost one of its loyal symbols, the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the sisterly United Arab Emirates (UAE), a wise leader who gave his life to his country and extended the white hands of the UAE with construction, support, and cooperation to all the countries of the Arab and Islamic nations, as an extension of the long history of giving to the UAE established by his father the late Sheikh Zayed Al Nahyan, the wise man of the Arabs, to write new pages of goodness and development, and for the UAE to achieve in his reign a renaissance and modernity that the world admits," the Egyptian Presidency's telegram read.
"Egypt's leadership, government and people have not and will not forget the supportive and strong positions of Sheikh Khalifa Al Nahyan in the most delicate of circumstances, which history has recorded and written in letters of light," Rady said.
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has sent cables of condolences to Egypt, the UAE people, and the Arab and Islamic nations, over the death of "a brother and friend among the dearest men."
Sisi expressed, in his name and in the name of Egypt, his sincere condolences to the honorable Al Nahyan family and to the rulers, sheikhs and people of the sisterly Emirates, praying to God Almighty to bless the honorable deceased with his vast mercy as a reward for what he submitted to his people and his nation.
