Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO)
Founded in 1996, the SCO was originally intended to promote cooperation between China, Russia, and other former Soviet countries in Eurasia, but then expanded to include other regional powers such as India, Iran, Turkey, and Pakistan.
Egypt and Saudi Arabia are the first two Arab states to join the organization.
