Egypt's imports of food commodities declined significantly last July, as the total value of imports amounted to about $493 while it was about $768 million in July of 2021, a decline of about $ 274 million.
The data of the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) monitored the most prominent commodities that contributed to this decline, led by the imports of beef cuts of the cow family, with a value of $78 million last July, compared to $ 99 million in the same month in 2021.
The decline in beef imports was followed by imports of palm oil, and its imports amounted to about $62 million last July, compared to $78 million in the same month in 2021.
