Egypt, the Group of Arab States and the Maldives have nominated Dr. Mahmoud Mohieldin for membership in the Board of Directors of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and an Executive Director of the fund for a new term of two years starting in November 2022.
In 2020, Dr. Mahmoud Mohieldin was unanimously elected Executive Director of the IMF and a member of its board of directors, representing Egypt and the group of Arab countries that include Egypt, the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon and Yemen, in addition to the Maldives.
