On Friday, Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdel Atty held a phone call with the Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis.
The Spokesperson of the Egyptian Ministry Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zied said that the call tackled the mutual historical ties between both countries, in addition to following up the joint projects, and the coordination in mutual-interest regional issues.
Abu Zied added that Abdel Atty asserted to his Greek counterpart Egypt's keenness of developing the mutual relations between Egypt and Greece in all fields, especially, in light of the progression of the strategic ties between both countries.
Moreover, the Egyptian minister asserted the importance of increasing the mutual relationships between Egypt and Greece in the field of economy, investment and major files like labour.
Regarding the current regional issues, both officials discussed the escalations in the region, asserting the necessity of de-escalating the tensions, therefore, Abdel Atty reviewed the communications of Egypt with the US, and European parties to control the situation.
On his side, the Greek minister praised the ties between both countries, expressing his keenness to continue developing the strategic relations between Egypt and Greece.
He also hailed the efforts of Egypt in political and humanitarian levels to solve all successive crises in the Middle East, asserting Egypt's role as a cornerstone for stability and security in the region.
