Egypt displayed yet again another disappointing performance, drawing with Kenya 1-1 on Thursday at Burj El-Arab Stadium putting Hossam El-Badry's future in doubt.
The Pharaohs almost scored their first goal of the game 5 minutes in after a defensive mistake by the Kenyans was intercepted by Mahmoud Kahraba who passed the ball to Mahmoud Trezeguet but he shot it wide.
Kenya was forced to replace goalkeeper Patrick Matinze in the 10th minute to replace Ian Aubrey Metano.
Kahraba made a mistake in handling the ball, giving it to the Kenyan player, who started the ball in the 22nd minute, bypassing the midfield and defending the ball, but Mohamed El Shennawi was able to tackle it nicely.
The Egyptian team scored the opening goal of the match in the 42nd minute through Mahmoud Kahraba after pressing the goalkeeper who tried to catch a short ball returned to him from the defense, which Kahraba palced into an empty net.
Badry made the first substitution in the ranks of the Egyptian team 58 minutes into the game with the participation of Ahmed Sayed "Zizo" instead of Hussein Shahat.
The Egyptian team took part in a fatal mistake in the 67th minute that resulted in the equalizer for the Kenyan team after Mohamed el-Nenny brought the ball back to Ahmed Fathi who did not get rid of it quickly and found it's way into Michael Olonga, who hit the net.
The disappointing result gave both Egypt and Kenya a point, while giving away the group's leadership to Comoros in the African Cup of Nations 2021 Qualifiers.
