Egypt's Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its condemnation on Wednesday regarding the recent incidents in eastern Al-Jazirah State, Sudan, where the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) executed violent assaults against innocent, unarmed civilians, including children, women, and the elderly people.
In an official statement, Egypt denounced these egregious attacks, which have resulted in the displacement of thousands and constitute a serious breach of international humanitarian law.
The statement emphasized the importance of maintaining Sudan’s national institutions, viewing them as essential to the state's integrity and the only means to ensure its unity and security.
Furthermore, Egypt reiterated its demand for an immediate ceasefire and the adherence to the principles outlined in the Jeddah Declaration to safeguard the resources of the Sudanese people.
Egypt called upon the international community to undertake significant humanitarian efforts and to seek a comprehensive political resolution that reflects the aspirations of the Sudanese populace.
The statement also affirmed Egypt's dedication, in collaboration with international partners, to assist Sudan in navigating this crisis and to protect the lives of its citizens.
