The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development launched the "Green Village" initiative during COP27, which reflects the successful partnership between the government, the private sector, and civil society institutions, represented by the "Decent Life" Foundation, the "e-consult" company for engineering and environmental consulting, and the Egyptian Green Buildings Association.
The "Green Village" initiative aims to rehabilitate "decent life" villages to comply with the latest global environmental standards of the World Green Building Council, and to obtain a "rationalization" certificate for green communities, through three main axes: energy, water, and resources.
It is intended to generalize the "Green Village" model in 175 villages as part of the "Decent Life" initiative nationwide, and to benefit from this pioneering experience in the "Decent Life for Africa Resilient to Climate Change" initiative.
