Egypt's Dar Al Iftaa declared that sexual harassment is “forbidden by Sharia.” It noted that this behavior is a “major sin, and a crime punishable by law.”
In a tweet, Dar Al Iftaa said: "Sexual harassment is forbidden by Sharia, a major sin, and a crime punishable by law."
It continued: "The honorable Sharia has glorified the violation of sanctities and honor, and reviled it and alienated it, and the perpetrator of that threatened severe punishment in this world and the hereafter, whether it was in word or deed."
