Egypt condemned sorming of Al Aqsa mosque by two Israeli ministers, members of the Israeli Knesset, and hundreds of Israeli settlers and extremists and raising the Israeli flag inside it, under the protection of the Israeli police, in addition to preventing Palestinian worshipers from entering Al-Aqsa Mosque, a statement from the ministry of foreign affairs said.
Egypt stressed that these irresponsible and provocative actions represent a violation of international law and the existing historical and legal situation in Al-Quds Al-Sharif.
Egypt stressed that the international community should play an active role in confronting these violations that aim to inflame feelings and thwart efforts to reach a ceasefire in Gaza, pointing out to Egypt’s commitment to seeking a just, lasting and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue that guarantees the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967.
