Egypt, Nile Basin Countries Trade Exchange Grew by 32.6% in 2021

The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) issued a statement on the occasion of African Statistics Day.

The highest values of trade exchange between Egypt and the Nile Basin countries were concentrated in five countries with a rate of 95.1% of the total bloc.

Sudan tops the list of African countries with an export value of ($827 million), representing 53.4% of the total bloc, and Kenya, with an export value of $382 million, with a rate of 24.6% of the total bloc. Ethiopia, the value of exports amounted to ($111 million), representing 7.2% of the bloc's total, Uganda's exports amounted to ($102 million), or 6.6% of the bloc's total, and Tanzania's exports amounted to ($52 million), or 3.4% of the bloc's total.
