A policeman and three criminal elements were killed after an exchange of fire between high-risk criminal elements, and security forces in Damietta, on Monday.
Information and investigations of the public security sector headed by Major General Alaa El-Din Selim, Assistant Minister of Interior, in coordination with the Criminal Investigation Department of the Damietta Security Directorate, confirmed that four very dangerous criminal elements, who have already been charged and three of them are wanted on various charges related to weapons, drugs, theft and thuggery, have formed a gang specialized in dealing with narcotic substances.
The wanted criminals were hiding in two deserted rooms on agricultural lands in one of the villages in the Kafr Saad Police Station district, where they were practicing their criminal activity.
After legalizing the procedures, they were targeted by a commission headed by the public security sector, with the participation of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Damietta Security Directorate, supported by forces from the Central Security Sector.
When the defendants saw the forces, they fired shots at them, so the forces exchanged fire and were able to control the situation.
The clashes resulted in the death of a policeman "from the police force of the police station of Kafr Saad” and the death of three criminals while a fourth criminal was detained.
By searching the two rooms, two automatic rifles, a shotgun, a pistol, 220 rounds of different bullets, 30 kilograms of cannabis were found, a kilogram of marijuana, an amount of hydro and an amount of money.
