Egypt's Minister of Education and Technical Education Dr. Reda Hegazy participated in a discussion session on the sidelines of the conference "Our children are our future...The health of the Egyptian child is a priority" organized by Aladdin magazine at Al-Ahram Foundation.
During the session entitled "Towards a vision for developing children's awareness between education, media and creativity", Hegazy stressed that the political leadership puts at the top of its priorities the development of the awareness of the Egyptian child and adopts the strategy of building the Egyptian person within the framework of achieving "Egypt's Vision 2030."
In the same connection, the minister reviewed the ministry's role in caring for early childhood, pointing out that this stage represents the golden years of investment in the child.
He also stressed that the ministry is working to support the child's ability to learn and innovate because it is a period of development of the stages of intelligence, which requires the availability of an appropriate educational environment for this stage.
Hegazy explained that the ministry aims to achieve the pleasure of learning and the practice of activities and focus on knowledge-producing education, noting that the evaluation process in the first three years, starting from the first grade of primary school to the third grade of primary school, does not include failure, and this takes into account the child’s mental health.
The minister continued: "The school is the real place for teaching and learning, with the aim of achieving the comprehensive growth of the student in terms of skill, emotional and knowledge, pointing to the necessity of not reducing the educational process to passing the cognitive side only, but it must lead to the development of innovation and creativity skills, expansion of perceptions and knowledge of general information. And building a personality that will be effective and productive in the future."
The conference, held under the auspices of Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, featured appearances by Jeremy Hopkins, UNICEF Representative in Egypt; Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports; Abdel Mohsen Salama, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Ahram Foundation; Hussein Al-Zanati, Editor-in-Chief of Aladdin Magazine; Dr. Saboura Al-Sayed, Member of the Education and Scientific Research Committee in the House of Representatives; Muhammad Nassif, Head of the National Center for Child Culture, and Writer and media personality Samah Abu Bakr Ezzat.
