Tonight is the day of joy to welcome a new year, and a new beginning. So, having a nice meal could be a great way of celebration. All Recipes presented various recipes for Holidays, SEE selected some for your celebrations.

Southern Fried Cabbage

Ingredients

⅓ cup vegetable oil

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon ground black pepper

1sliced head cabbage

1 chopped white onion, chopped

1 pinch white sugar

Directions

In a large pan heat oil over medium heat. Add cabbage, onion, and sugar; cook and stir until cabbage and onion are tender. 

And, now serve them.

Bavarian Hot Dogs

Ingredients

1 chopped onion cup 

16 ounce of hot dogs

½ cup chicken stock

½ cup grape juice

1 tablespoon packed brown sugar

Directions

Cook and stir onion until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.

Add hot dogs to onion in the skillet.

Stir chicken stock, the juice, brown sugar, and into the hot dog mixture. Reduce heat to low; simmer, stirring occasionally, until most of the liquid has evaporated.

Cinnamon Sweet Potato Slices

4 medium sweet potatoes, peel them and slice them to 1/2 inch thick

¼ cup of melted butter

2 tablespoons sugar

½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray.

Arrange sweet potato slices on the baking sheet. Brush with the half of the butter. 

Mix sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl and sprinkle the half over the potatoes.

Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Turn, brush with remaining butter, and sprinkle with remaining cinnamon and sugar. Continue baking until tender.

Swedish Meatballs 

2 slices white bread, crumble them

½ cup heavy cream

1 teaspoon butter

1 minced small onion, minced

⅔ pound ground beef

1 egg

1 tablespoon brown sugar 

1 teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg

¼ teaspoon ground allspice

⅛ teaspoon ground ginger 

1 tablespoon butter

¼ cup chicken broth

3 tablespoons all-purpose flour

2 cups beef broth

½ container sour cream

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Add bread crumbs into a small bowl; mix in cream. Leave them until crumbs absorb cream

After that, melt 1 teaspoon butter in a skillet over medium heat; cook and stir onion until light brown. Add onion to a mixing bowl.

Mix ground beef, egg, brown sugar, salt, black pepper, nutmeg, allspice, and ginger with onion in the mixing bowl.

Next, Lightly mix in bread crumbs and cream.

Melt 1 tablespoon butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add about 1 and 1/2 tablespoon meat mixture per meatball; form into balls. 

Place meatballs into the skillet and cook, until browned.

Place browned meatballs into a baking dish, pour in chicken broth, and cover with foil.

Bake in the preheated oven until meatballs are tender. Remove meatballs to a serving dish.

Pour pan drippings into a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk flour into drippings until smooth.

Then, whisk in enough beef broth to total about 2 1/2 cups liquid.

Bring gravy to a simmer, whisking constantly, until thickened.

Before serving, whisk in sour cream. Season with salt and black pepper. Serve gravy with meatballs.
