The Earth will reach the farthest distance in its orbit around the Sun, Thursday, tomorrow, which is called Aphelion.
The Director of the Astronomical Society in Jeddah Majid Abu Zahra said that the Earth reaches the farthest distance from the Sun in the middle of summer, however, this proves that confirms the distance between the Sun and Earth is the real reason for the phenomenon of seasons.
Abu Zahra added that the distance between both sky bodies can impact the length of the seasons. So, the current position of the Earth in its orbit around the Sun would reveal why Summer is the longest season of the four ones in the northern hemisphere.
In the same context, the Director of the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics Dr. Ashraf Tadros said that the Moon will be in conjunction with Saturn, tomorrow.
This sky event can be observed with the naked eye until dawn Friday.
