DR Congo Detects New Ebola Cases, Announces New Virus Outbreak

On Sunday, the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo reported a new case of the Ebola virus near Butembo, adding that the infected person died announcing the country's 12th Ebola outbreak.

Moreover, A woman was found with the symptoms of the Ebola virus in Biena town on February 1 and she died in Butembo on February 3.

She was infected by her husband who contracted the virus during its previous outbreak in several African countries.

Therefore, the Ministry of Health stated, "The provincial response team is already hard at work. It will be supported by the national response team which will visit Butembo shortly."

This incident came three months after Congo's declaration of the end of the 11th wave of the Ebola virus.

The previous wave of the virus left behind 55 death, however, it overlapped with the earlier outbreak which was named as the second biggest disease outbreak in the history of the country.
