Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhanom was received by Health Minister Hala Zayed at Cairo international airport on Wednesday.
Adhanom arrived in a two-day visit to Egypt to discuss possible corporation with the country following the successful implementation of health reforms.

On her part, Zayed praised the organization's efforts to fight epidemics in the African continent, particularly the Hepatitis C virus.
Adhanom praised President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi's initiatives to support women's health, eliminate Hepatitis C and the early detection of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs).

Adhanom is expected to lead a WHO high-level delegation at a press conference on health reforms in Egypt.
He also has an awaited visit to the Health Ministry as well as the National Training Institute on his agenda.
It is worth mentioning that it is the first visit by Director-General to Egypt since he assumed office back in May 2017.
