The head of the Egyptian Journalists Syndicate Diaa Rashwan mourned the death of Al-Ahram journalist Imad El-Feki, who passed away early Thursday morning, following a tragic accident, due to its underlying circumstances.

The Syndicate called on everyone to respect the sanctity of death, and the right of the deceased and his family to avoid putting forward interpretations of the incident and its causes without verification and proof of evidence and to wait for the outcome of the investigations of the Public Prosecution.

The Syndicate confirmed it closely follows up with the Al-Ahram Foundation on the results of the investigations will lead to, and its full support for the family of the late journalist, asking God to inspire his family and relatives with patience and solace.

Meantime, Alaa Thabet, editor-in-chief of Al-Ahram revealed that everything published on the reasons behind the death of El-Feki is a sheer lie and slander inspired by a sick imagination that seeks to achieve mysterious and incomprehensible purposes.

Thabet added that the records of the foundation and the National Press Authority prove that no incentives nor profits have ever been deducted for the deceased colleague since 2017 until now, and accordingly.

"I confirm that the colleague has no complaints in the Al-Ahram records, and the Syndicate or the media councils," he stressed.

Unofficial investigations revealed earlier that the journalist committed suicide by hanging himself on desks in his office before jumping out of his office window on the fourth floor which separated his head from his body.
