The hashtag #الا_رسول_الله_يا_فرنسا (translated into But Messenger of God, O France) has widely circulated on Twitter and other social media platforms since yesterday, Saturday, in defense of Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, following offensive statements given by the French President Emmanuel Macron.
The hashtag topped the list of the most traded on Twitter.
"Never touch the Messenger of God. It’s time to boycott French products and cut ties relations,” a Twitter user posted.
“There is different French than being anti-Muslim and having the freedom of speech,” a female Twitter user said on Sunday.
An Indian Muslim addressed Macron on Twitter as saying: " Stop making fun of our Islamic religion. We are proud of our prophet Mohammed peace be upon him.”
Another Twitter user wrote Sunday “Prophet Muhammad taught us the true meaning of humanity and how to respect other religions even if we disagree with them.”
