The National Disaster and Emergency Management Committee in the Philippines announced today, Wednesday, that the death toll from Typhoon Doksuri has risen to 27.
The committee stated - according to the Philippine "ABS-CBN" channel - that 52 people were injured and 13 others are still missing as a result of the typhoon, which caused chaos in the agricultural sector, as more than 105 thousand farmers and fishermen were affected, while more than 289,000 eere displaced.
Doksuri is the fifth typhoon to hit the Philippines this year, and scientists have warned that extreme weather events such as powerful storms exacerbated by climate change.
