The National Disaster and Emergency Management Committee in the Philippines announced today, Monday, that the death toll from Typhoon Doksuri has risen to 25.
The committee said - according to the Philippine "ABS-CBN" channel - that 52 people were injured and 23 others are still missing as a result of the typhoon, which caused chaos in the agricultural sector, as more than 105,000 farmers and fishermen were affected.
Doksuri is the fifth typhoon to hit the Philippines this year, and scientists have warned that extreme weather events such as powerful storms are being exacerbated by climate change.
