Iftar Party Organized in Cairo on Day of Unity between Russia and Belarus

The Egyptian Association for Graduates of Russian and Soviet Universities sent a congratulatory letter to both Russian Ambassador in Cairo Georgy Borisenko, and the Ambassador of Belarus in Cairo, Sergei Terentiev on the occasion of the Day of Unity between Russia and Belarus.

Sherif Gad, the head of the Alumni Association, pointed out that the historical relations between the Russian and Belarusian peoples have always been special, and extend deep into history, with common Slavic roots.

Fathi Toghan, the Secretary General of the Alumni Association, confirmed that the relations between Russia and Belarus are a unique model in the world of friendship between peoples.

Toghan stressed that this holiday began to be celebrated in the nineties, but the relations between the two countries are historical.

On the other hand, an Iftar party was organized in cooperation between the Russian and Belarusian embassies in Cairo, in the presence of Borisenko and Terentiev, Gad, Toghan, and Saleh Hashem, the member of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian-Russian Friendship Association, Muhammad Nasr Al-Jabali, the Head of the Russian Language Department at the Faculty of Al-Alsun, Ain Shams University, Duha Assi, a member of the House of Representatives, and members of the diplomatic missions of the two countries in Cairo.

An artistic celebration was also organized, the program of which included a group of Russian and Belarusian folk songs and folklore, and an art exhibition on nature in the two countries was organized on the sidelines of the celebration.
